A Road Accident

A road accident is a sudden and unexpected event on the road that causes injury or death. Last month I saw a terrible road accident on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway. A passenger bus was running at a very high speed and was trying to overtake a truck. Suddenly it hit a rickshaw and then overturned beside the road. The rickshaw puller died on the spot and several passengers of the bus were badly injured. People gathered there at once and rushed the injured to the nearby hospital. The police arrived soon and the traffic was blocked for hours. The main cause of the accident was reckless driving. Many drivers do not follow traffic rules, and unfit vehicles are allowed on the road. The scene made me deeply sad. To stop such accidents, drivers must drive carefully, obey the traffic rules and the authorities must take strict action against those who break them.
